Fresh pineapple, lime, and jalapeño blended with water and a touch of agave, chilled and served over ice.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit & Vegetables

01 - 4 cups fresh pineapple, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
02 - 1 medium jalapeño, seeded and roughly chopped (leave seeds for more heat)
03 - 1 lime, juiced (about 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice)

04 - 3 cups cold water
05 - 2 tablespoons agave syrup (or granulated sugar; adjust to taste)
06 - Ice cubes, for serving

# Directions:

01 - Place the pineapple, jalapeño, lime juice, agave syrup and cold water in a blender.
02 - Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and uniformly combined, about 30–45 seconds depending on blender power.
03 - Taste and adjust sweetness or heat: add more agave or sugar for sweetness or additional jalapeño (with seeds if desired) for spice.
04 - For a silkier beverage, strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract liquid and discard pulp.
05 - Fill glasses with ice, pour the agua fresca over the ice and garnish with pineapple wedges or thin jalapeño slices as desired.

  • Once, I forgot to strain out the pulp and ended up with a drink that was more smoothie than agua fresca—not bad, but decidedly not the same!
  • Using slightly under-ripe pineapple will rob you of the full, juicy flavor—so always taste your fruit first.
03 -
